Last minute tips for south Florida holiday herping

Hi All,

In one week from now we will start our first florida holiday. It is a family trip but with room to go herping. I didnt get much replies to my last post but maybe you van answer some last minute questions.
- can you handle snakes outside the NP without permit in florida? Just to show and educate my kids
- i will have 3 nights in the everglades for cruising. But we are also 4 nights near key largo. Is there any herping on the Keys or should i Just go to the beach and shop instead?
- does anyone know a good place to herp near crystal river.. Cytrus wildlife area or chassahowitzka area any good?
- i would love to river Kayak near homosassa. Do you have any tips for good places to go with 2 kids 8 and 11 years old?

Hope you can help me out.. if i find some snakes i will post them here...
