Best time for night cruising Big Cypress, FL

Hi all, we are planning a vacation to the everglades and big cypress. Our main focus is for herps and we particularly love cruising. I know where to cruise, I just don't know the best time of year to get the most activity. Right now I'm looking at the last week of February. Should I move our trip a little later in to march or would the last week of February be ideal? I appreciate any input.
