Talladega/Cheaha in mid-March (snakes)

Hello,

I’m planning on taking my 10 year old son camping in the Talladega/Cheaha area of Alabama in mid-March. Would love to see some snakes (copperheads, timber rattlers, rats, milks, etc.) but thinking it might be too chilly/early in the season. Anyone with experience in that area able to offer some insight?
