I really hate you people

Post by Joe Farah »

Sorry I meant to say, "I really miss you people"... not sure how that typo happened. Anyways, I haven't been on here much or herping much this spring. I hope everyone has been enjoying themselves so far this season.

Here are a few pics i took recently.

The above milk would not sit still for me. After a few frustrating minutes i remember what Brian Hubbs told me he does to get his milks to pose... "Just step on it's head really hard, but not so much that you can tell in the photo..." I did that and it worked. Thanks Brian.

Can anyone find the collared lizard in the above pic?

Hey Paul,

I got your PM about wanting to collect and sell as many of those collareds as possible, and i replied with GPS coords but my computer froze up when i hit the send button... Let me know if it didn't make it to you and i'll just post them on here.

Sure, toss 'em up

You got it half right...if I had those I don't think i could make myself sell any.

are those colors normal up there? Really vivid.

I'll give you a nickle each for em'. But only if they're shipped mid-July with extra heat packs; about 12 to a 6x6 box. I'm running low on cash, so 3-5 day media mail should do.

And just in case the sarcasm isn't readily apparently, let me say that the previous was meant in jest. I don't need this coming up at a job interview some day :-D

I thought that method only worked on Indigos?

cool post! I've never tried stepping on my herps to photograph them, but the double-hand hard press works pretty good with milkies.

that lizard's name is Waldo. Some Rocky Mountain herp cowboys taught me how to noose lizards a couple weeks ago, so I say we hang em!

I've been seriously thinking bout buying some cb eastern collards ($40 at petsmart... ) they are AWESOME. Till then, I've settled for the nicest pair Ca has to offer... the male was rescued from certain death, from these 55 gal plastic water-catchment containers set into the ground (which I check regularily) and the female was sitting on a rock, bout 20 ft away, pretty much refusing to leave....

They are very happy to be re-united and spend much of their days snuggeling and holding hands... :D

I dream of when the time comes that I see my lifer Eastern... :D GREAT Post! jim

You guys shouldn't be buying and selling AC herps. Plus 12 Collards in a 6x6 box is too much. And 3 days in shipping is too much. I just can't believe what I read on here sometimes.

Good idea. Especially if reading a Joe Farah thread. Perhaps you missed the obvious sarcasm ... or perhaps I missed yours. :?

If the people on here only knew how kindhearted you really were. Volunteering at cat shelters, organizing PETA rallies, sending anonymous donations to the Creation Museum, and staying up all night for the church bake sale, just to name a few.

VERY nice shots and great looking collards. The trick I "heard" that works well for uncooperative snakes is to grab them by the tail and "crack them like a whip" once and they'll sit still usually after that. If that fails, you roll over them lightly with a car tire. That one has never failed me; just photoshop the tire tracks out.

I'd guess southwest OK for jeffro's collaris, based on the lizard itself and the rocks beneath it.

I am WAY, WAY behind on posting pics, but I found a few collareds this spring, and they didn't come close to the colors on the ones in this thread.
