Negev Desert lizard

Post by ewpreston »

I was in Israel's Negev Desert last march and photographed this lizard. My internet searches didn't come up with anything that looked like this, but I'm sure it's not rare. Any suggestions on identification are appreciated.

Your lizard appears to be a Desert Agama, (Trapelus mutabilis pallidus), which is a somewhat common species from that region.
