Wow, that little guy is only a few days, if not hours, old- it still has its egg tooth!

Jon, VanAR - thanks for pointing it out. Didn't notice the egg tooth earlier :oops: Should be a young hatchling rather than a sub-adult then.

I saw the egg tooth and immediantly thought of Van - I did!

But I am searching for the word for the human (and other mammals) response to babies, and neonatal tinyness and big head, big eyed baby features. I dont think neotenic is exactly it, but i can find no other word for that response.

What is it?
