Re: Herping 2013 Part 3
Great stuff, as usual, Will. I was saving my commentary for the end, but I'll post now so I don't forget the the things that I wanted to say.
You're killing me with these habitat shots. If I wasn't homesick before.....
Love those desert-phase molossus.
Any luck with oreganus or viridis this year?
Those blue specks are pretty, but those whites are just incredible. I've herped in the blue speck's range and seen a few, but never the whites. How are those mountains? I've heard that the snakes there can be much harder to come by. Are there any different techniques that you use down there, or is it business as usual? Do the mountains East of there have specks of similar coloration? If so, are they of a similar size? How are the boas down there?
Sorry for all the questions. I've wanted to get the permits for a few years now, but I'm not sure whether or not it'll be worth the time and effort. Any information you'd be willing to give me would be greatly appreciated.

Fantastic Will! Looks like alot of the Gilas were on the skinny side in 2013. The bighorn skull was super cool.

GREAT STUFF!, best examples of mitchellii I have ever seen, the white one is simply amazing!
The Banded Sandsnake was that in California? There are rumors of them inhabiting the lower Algodones Dunes, but they are just that..rumors (so far).
Fantastic pictures.. as always

As usual, your speck photos are the ones that make me the most envious. Some of those are REdickless. Interesting that you got good night time shots of the lyre. I always have trouble getting them to sit still and then when they do, the glare messes up my shots. Like the desert iguana shots a lot too!
