Well, I was in Vegas for a conference this weekend, and since I don't gamble or drink I figured I'd rather spend the after business hours driving into AZ and seeing some Rosy boa habitat, and maybe scare up a snake or two.
So I headed out, happy to see some afternoon thunderstorms welling up.
I'd gotten some good tips on where to find Rosies in Arizona, and soon I was seeing all the right signs that I was getting close...
Then I spotted the den!
Okay, sadly I didn't see any lichanura, but to try to make up for leading you all astray, here's a couple shots of the critters I did see and some habitat shots of the hualapais.
The views of endless habitat were awesome.
Although the locals where less than thrilled to see me
Driving along some rocky dirt cuts I can across this speck. He didn't rattle or move the whole time I checked him out.
And this fiesty atrox a few nights later, within about 30-40 yards of where the speck had been.
Came upon 2 DOR longnoses
and these guys were out like crazy. I must have seen 10 the first night
Lastly was this DOR. Such a waste. If only I'd been there a few minutes earlier I might have been able to prevent it...
Thanks for looking.

lol, I was considering collecting a sample but it think it was a bit too far degraded... however, if anyone's interested GPS coordinates are available upon request.did you at least manage to get the DOR pizza into a wildlife collection?
I do believe this represents a range extension for the Delishosus pepperoni.

That Speck is identical to some of the Specks I've seen on Whitewater. Very cool find.
