So me and some friends are driving all the way out to Florida tomorrow, from Riverside, California. Taking the 10 freeway all the way there, and I'd like to know if anybody knows any good herping spots that wouldn't lead us to far astray from the freeway? Or any spots near Orlando Florida (not wildlife parks). We'll be passing through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and staying in Orlando, Florida for Disney World. The freeway runs on nearly all of these states borders btw. Any suggestions are appreciated (:

There are hundreds of side roads along that freeway.. Drive them at night..

You should see some really cool herps..

Pay attention to the weather as you go. Plan on cruising side roads as Fundad suggests, especially in areas where it has rained a couple of days prior to your visit.


Semi-related note, word to the wise: you will probably not be getting too many specific recommendations (exact roads, for example) to your request, since it looks like you're new to this forum and therefore an "unknown quantity" in the eyes of many. It's not personal, it's just that people here have been "burned" by trying to help a newcomer out, and that person abuses their generosity.
