The variety is staggering. The quality is magnificent. Great post overall (and the ladyslippers were the icing on the proverbial cake for me).

Scott
here is your 'centerfold' shots for the next year.
Awesome post...I think my fave is the bullfrog in mid-air, or the coachwhip on the dunes, or the...ah hell, they are all great!

loving the coachwhip but I really loved the way you casually dropped in the faceshot on that black bear amidst all the close-ups. It made me jump a little.

I'm digging the yellow rat climbing the tree....from above. All of them, just beautiful.

Amazing post, amazing photos top to bottom.
That Bullfrog in midair shot may be one of the better shots I've seen on FHF in a while. Outstanding. How did you get that sharp?

Truly and awesome post. You found some great variety and made it a family affair. Great shots all around as well. The last mudsnake (being held by the little girl) looks like a beast!

Despite the lack of rattlesnakes, this was a wonderful post full of cool & fun images. Thanks for sharing

Re: Bubble Boa and a month in the Carolinas (DUB)
Now I get the bubble boa ha ha For a second there I thought this was going to be a post from two different regions and thought the bubble boa was some kind of weird charina or something. Great post though, lots of great photos there I especially liked the triangulum and the farancia, as well as the kids joining in I have an almost 3 year old I take with me to certain areas, she loves everything about nature, my other daughter is only 5 months I havent taken her with me in the field yet, although I had taken my other daughter with me when she was the same age and younger but primarily just so I could go lol, again nice post
Re: Bubble Boa and a month in the Carolinas (DUB)
Incredible. The leaping frog and the face-first shot of the Rat climbing up the tree priceless!

Your photography is really, really awesome. My favorites were the yellow rat on the beach and the bullfrog in air.
A post can't be good without rattlesnakes?Norman D wrote:Despite the lack of rattlesnakes, this was a wonderful post full of cool & fun images. Thanks for sharing

Now, I dont think I bump too many older posts up, but I was looking for that jumping frog that Porter posted about, and the Carolinas are a dream destination for me, and I had not seen this post but happened on it using search feature (Leaping frog took me to this glorious post)
I am also not one to go soft-swirl over every kid that I see, but Dang, these photos just knocked me out! Gave me hope for humanity ..
Beautiful. All of it.
