Super cool :) Surprising to me since every Whiptail I have seen doesn't let me get closer than ten feet! In my backyard I planted a twisted willow about 15 years ago, and once it was a decent size a few years ago a Fence Lizard made the tree and about 20' radius out from it his domain. He became very used to me and my family, and when gardening if I found a grub or pincherbug or any other tasty morsel I was able to bring it over to him, and he would run down the tree and snap it up! Pretty cool feeling having a wild "pet" sort of situation.

In the early 90's I had a subadult Sceloporus magister take up residence in my backyard in Tucson between my house and my workshop. After several months it became used to me passing by and would not scurry to its burrow. I decided to try and feed it pieces of hamburger meat. I was greatly surprised that after two or three attempts at tossing the small pieces close to him that it then was not afraid of them being tossed its way and then would then wait for them in anticipation. Eventually it would eat out my hand. We filmed it climbing over my leg and lower torso to get the meat out of my hand. Unfortunatly the next day, my daughter fed it and restrained it a bit too much and it was never the same again. Art :(
