Wickenberg - End of January

Post by stschott »

Hey all,

I'm heading to Wickenburg for 4-5 days at the end of January. I've never been to AZ but would like to do some herping while I'm there if possible. Is it worth it to get out a few afternoons if the weather is warm? I'm mostly interested in snakes but I also just like seeing what's around when I go somewhere new. I'm not sure what to expect because herping here in the Denver area is pretty pointless from December to March.

I would expect very little BUT, it's all weather dependant. I have had some sucess in Feb. What you need is rain a while before then a spell of warm weather to possibly get stuff moving. There is almost always some lizards at least. It has been a while since I've done anything in Jan/Feb. Was near there last week but didn't have much luck.
