Since these things just drop when you linger too close, I "knocked" it down to get the dorsal:

Nice! Buprestids are one of my favorite groups. All the ones I see around here are just plain black though... Maybe I need to start checking out more pine trees.

That real colorful one is Chrysophana placida. They're so easy to overlook when they're around a quarter inch long or less. Heck, even Acmaeodera are bigger.

I was looking on Charles Bellamy's site and it actually looks more like the type specimen of C. conicola.
