@Steve: those things don't glow. They're called "lantern bugs" because those things look like a lantern.

Interesting stuff.

Here is a photo of a couple of Lantern Bugs taken in Sabah. I can see the upper bug is Pyrops sultana, any idea on the lower spotted one? It doesn't seem to match with the ones you have posted. Thanks.
