Driveway Drama

Post by tspuckler »

I was working on my computer this evening when I heard some "flapping around" on the driveway. A similar incident took place last summer, so I had some idea what to expect.

Rumble:

The Cicada Killer was trying had to bite off one of the wings of its victim, presumably to stop it from flapping.

It took some time, but eventually the predator succeeded in subduing its prey.

Simply awesome. I see cicada killers roaming around here, but I've never seen one capture a cicada.

I was recently lucky enough to see the whole process. This all went down on a playground that my boy was playing at. I didn't have a camera but probably should have. I'm a bad parent.

Cicada Killers love digging in my neighbors yard. I love it when I see a cicada flying by upside down.
