What the hell is that thing?! I see a mantis and a wasp... which is almost frightening.

I've only seen one and it was small. I don't have any pics. Isn't there a mite that looks like a scorpion out there somewhere too? I love weird combo bugs.

More mantispids would be cool but all strange insects are welcome!

Not 100% on species but maybe Climaciella brunnea? This one is a wasp parasitoid.

I think we should just start posting some of the oddities we've seen. I only have two cell phone pics of female Ichneumon wasps. They have crazy long stingers that are titanium tipped!

I used to see these on my garage from time to time when I lived in Cleveland.
It's a different type of Mantisfly than the one posted. I've never seen that wasplike one.
