Another thread I really liked and would now like to resuscitate is "Herping with Kids". Here's where you can show off your rugrats playing with all manner of herptiles. I'll start with Hans & Karl Twoton, snake rasslers extraordinaire ....
Macropisthodon r. rudis hatchling
Viridovipera s. stejnegerii
Ptyas mucosa
Taiwan Beauty Snake, Orthriophis taeniurus friesi
Vial o' Viper (Protobothrops mucrosquamatus aka Taiwan Habu, safely packed for transport)
Ditch Prowler
Asiatic Many-Toothed Snake (Sibynophis chinensis)
Dinodon rufozonatum
A Fistful of Amphiesma sauteri
Sinonatrix percarinata suriki
Greater Green Snake, Cyclophiops major

Hey, Hans! I completely agree! Here are some of mine. Let's start with California a few years ago:
Riverside with FUNDAD, spring of 2004. My two oldest sons, Hunter and Clayton:
Gopher snake:
Rosy boa:
Clayton "Flippin'"
San Diego, 2004
Clayton with various Cal Kings:
And with a striped racer and big Gilberts skink from the Laguna Mountains:
An alligator lizard:
San Francisco, East Bay:
Hunter and Clayton with Cal Kings found night driving:
And a longnose snake:
2003 Santa Cruz Mountains:
Hunter with a "zonata"
2003 Northern California coastal mountains, Gopher snake:
2003 Northern California, a few salamanders and newts:
And CHINA!
2008, North of Beijing, My third son Tao with a large male Zaocys dhumnades
And all for of my kids in the same area, same year, with another large male:
Clayton with a female:
2008 on the Great Wall
Boys with Coluber spinalis
Hunter & Clayton with Elaphe davidi
2009 on the Great Wall
Hunter, Clayton and me with three Elaphe dione found in a mating ball:
2010 on the Great Wall
My three boys (and me) with Elaphe davidi
Clayton and Tao with Elaphe dione
Wow, they've grown up so much!!

Hey Scott, great to hear/see from you again! I haven't seen any posts from you in well over a year, IIRC. Good to see you guys are still well and herpin' the Great Wall! Love the pajama shot, by the way

Put it this way: there's no way around the fact that eventually your kids WILL come home at three AM, but if you've instilled the herping virus in them at an early age, at least you'll know where they were - cruising for snakes, not for drugsPaul White wrote:Almost makes me not horrified of having kids.

Love the first one - and the young lady in the antebellum dress wielding a snake hook
