Wow that is an amazing trip. The timber, mud snake, and the PINESNAKE!!!!
I would go outside right now and go herping, but I tried and couldn't go more
than 1/2 a mile on crutches on Friday...and found nothing.
What part of Virginia are you from?

That's the kind of NC trip that used to keep me up at night plotting and scheming ways to get back down there from Ma.
I'd say you could call it a G-slam, you've got more than enough cool species.
My personal NC slam would have to include a red pyg, red mole and coastal milk, but that's just me.

definantly a home-run streak, with some AWESOME herps... but a 'grand-slam' is all in one day (or night) A walk-off GS would be on one pass of a rd. Least ways... that's how we play it in Ca... great post though... jim

One thing is for sure, you definitely did well!!! Finding the simus and the pine snake would have been awesome on their own. All the other stuff was just icing on the cake!

I think when you posted this before the crash you had me saying something like," If you don't stay out and herp you won't find snakes," and it was just in your head and not on the phone. The point though is, my philosophy and advice has had an effect on you and I appreciate the props none the less. BUT
You have no one to blame or thank for this trip but yourself. You are a persistent and thoughtful herper, and you need nothing else. I will never forget when you found your first suboc. I'm so glad I got that on film. You're my kind of dude.

Thanks again for all the support. The pine has to be one of my all time favorite finds.
I am not in VHS. I used to be a member several years ago.
Well Dan, it's safe to say I was a little preoccupied when I called you about the pinesnake.

It was nice meeting you dudes, out there. Good stuff, that simus was a good find for that time of the year.
Thats you guys way down in the distance, before I knew ya'll were herpers.

Man that looks like it was a killer trip! Awesome finds and shots. I can only hope to find some of those species before I leave NC. That pine is amazing I would kill to see one.

Thanks again!
Nathan, great pic! It was nice to meet you as well. We still need to do a pigmy trip, maybe this year? Lost contact after the crash, but we need to be sure to make that happen!

That's the true beauty of habitat and animals in nature like the north carolina mountain land for sale. I was hoping that I could see some endangered species and rear animals that I've never seen.
