On the hunt...

Post by Notread »

After herping all day and seeing squat, I found this northern copperhead on the hunt at about 9pm.

Really cool. Takeing the picture with flash at night makes the copperhead look brilliant. Don't see many copperhead pictures at night.

did you play with your settings, because nothing go whited out, the pic came out nice and clear even with the rocks
and finally a snake not in the blue.

It is rather disappointing to find snakes in blue. Awesome observation Jeff. I'd like to try this one time. I guess it'd be best to wait for a string of 90 degree days?

Nice...
The thing with these observations that makes it really cool is not to mess with it. Get as many shots as you can without disturbing the thing and just walk away....

Actually after the pics I pinned it by stepping on it's tail and then I reached down and grabbed it by it's neck. When it tried to bite me I was able to get it to calm down by spinning it around above my head like helicopter blades. Really, it makes it all the more exciting.
