Rosy Boa Question
I'm new to herping and having a blast. I decided that the snake I REALLY wanna see would be a Rosy Boa and I told a fellow herper this and he told me i won't have any luck with them until spring because the rest of the year they are underground. Is this true?
Re: Rosy Boa Question

Re: Rosy Boa Question
Where are you from?
Re: Rosy Boa Question
I saw one last night; tell your friend he was WRONG.
I see them with regularity until after the first week of July; Typically. This year is an exceptional one though, and the season may last longer; or it may not. I'm almost pretty sure it's one or the other though.........
Pre-quake boa..........after 8 but before 9.............
We set her in a wash well off the road, and went on with our evening.
Things were looking pretty good, until that stupid quake had to roll up and rattle everyone's cage!
Stupid quake!

Re: Rosy Boa Question
Hey Mr. BoaRd,
Are you saying you saw less snakes because of the quake?

Re: Rosy Boa Question
That is my thought sir. I am almost pretty sure that was the case. That is my story; I'm sticking to it. There were rocks and boulders and gravel all over the grade later that night. The highway patrol was up there cleaning it off the road. We ended up seeing a dozen snakes, as well as 2 kinds of geckos. Activity slowed down quite a bit after the quake.

Re: Rosy Boa Question
sure, blame it on the quake.
Re: Rosy Boa Question
Richard, I'm with Bill on this one. I'm blaming it on the quake. I didn't even get down there until after it happened.
