foot photos needed
hey all... getting down to the wire on publish deadline (the 3rd one... ). I could use more foot photos...(herp feet only please. Then again, what the hell...any kind of feet for a laugh). Palmar surface close up of anuran feet (especially spadefoot sp.) are the ticket...although I'll be surprised if even the most hard core herpers take photos of the feet... Thanks! joe

i thought you meant human feet
Re: foot photos needed
Joe...what's your deadline? I need to get to bed as I've gotta be up at 2:45am for work, but I do have a few feet shots from a poster I did for my former Naturalist job. I believe I have a spadefoot (forgetting the species), a woodhouse toad, and a bullfrog as my "hand" models.
EDIT: email me at herpsofnm /AT/ comcast /DOT/ net.

Re: foot photos needed
Thanks guys...
KevinS...I'm def. interested in sallie feet photos. Do you happen to have any of the greenies? I'll pm you.
Bill. I would love to use that couchii. The cricket would be great...but need little closer shot showing toe pads.
i have a question while we're at this... Some emails automatically compress photos I've heard...does this effect print quality? would they still be usable?
Jps..thanks for sending those photos. I was going to ask for the punctatus photo as well to show the 'belly patch'.
Spinifer...I was considering a deformed foot photo. That's a good shot if you wouldn't care to send. What is that longtail (?) sitting on?
I have a ton of track photos left to take... These contributions help narrow my list of needed photos. Thanks a bunch!

Yes its a longtail. Its sitting in a bin lined with brown paper bag. I was taking alot of photos for research and its the background I came up with to prevent glare and overexposure from my camera flash. I'll send you it.

Yes! Yes! Yes! you already have my copy sold as soon as it comes out. Can you tell me the publisher and a date so I know when to start looking? I am an avid tracker. I love Mark Elbroch's tracking books he has fantastic stuff on mammals and birds but alas no herps, this will fill a huge void in my collection.salamanderhunter wrote:Jason and Piglet...will pm you. Re: foot photos needed
Lindsay...gotta love herp tats...nice photo...too bad for me it's not native.
Jon...Do you know anything about the interesting foot design?
Jeremy. Thanks! Publisher is stackpole...same series as elbrochs mammal and bird guides. Not sure on a date...I'm trying to get it done... Hoping for publishing in the fall, but prolly won't happen until next spring (they only publish twice a year). Yes, there is definitely a void in the tracking world in the way of herps. Not for long though... Check out www.coyotetrails.org (outdoor school i work for) tracking forum, blog, etc... I pretty much live to track...and herp... There is another thread i posted recently for herp track photos if you haven't seen it...folks put up some great photos...

Re: foot photos needed
It is a sort of suction cup foot that is shared by most of the arboreal Bolitaglossa salamanders.salamanderhunter wrote: Jon...Do you know anything about the interesting foot design?
