herping in the midwest

last year i caught a pickerel frog at a park in illinois called apple river canyon. they are very rare at that edge of the range, and im going again on the 15th of july. ill try to catch
one and get a picture, wish me luck!

Good luck! At least in Michigan, cool, clear water was the best place to find pickerel frogs.

I'm back!
i didn't find anything worth getting pictures of, but i did HEAR a pickerel frog. i only heard 1 though, so the population is probably minimal in that area.
