herping in the midwest

last year i caught a pickerel frog at a park in illinois called apple river canyon. they are very rare at that edge of the range, and im going again on the 15th of july. ill try to catch :thumb: one and get a picture, wish me luck!

Good luck! At least in Michigan, cool, clear water was the best place to find pickerel frogs. :)

I'm back!

i didn't find anything worth getting pictures of, but i did HEAR a pickerel frog. i only heard 1 though, so the population is probably minimal in that area.
