Re: catching up - 3 summer reports
Hi Jeroen, good to hear from you!
Those sound like some pretty nice destinations. How far west in Spain did you get? That's an area I would love to explore in depth. Good food, good surf, gorgeous scenery, and some fun herps (including some vipers).
Any landscape and habitat or just "travel" pics?

Hey Jimi, I know people around here tend to dislike linking away from the forum itself (never understood why...), but that's where you'll find some answers. NW Spain is beautiful. Not too many snake species, but the variability within Vipera seoanei is ridiculous. In terms of fire salamander densities and variability it's the best place on earth. Tourism is limited in contrast to the Alps or the Pyrenees, which for me is also a huge bonus. On a previous trip, we went all the way west until Galicia, but this was in spring and wet-wet-wet. The report has some additional scenery shots which may be of interest.

Nice report and pics! I had no idea so much open land still existed in Spain. That looks great...
