Herp Hunting West Texas August 2017

Post by jcb59 »

I am not sure if my previous post went through or not. I may be duplicating messages.

I did a snake hunting trip to West Texas over the new moon period in August. The video can be seen on You tube.

Take a look.

I found 103 snakes. Let's see if I can recall the species: WDB, Blacktail, Trans Pecos ratsnake, glossy, bull, night, checkered garter, longnose, blackheaded, desert kingsnake - no mojave. That is it I think. I will have to check my field notes.

Excellent finds for a new moon! Did you make it to Rosa's Cantina?

Thanks to Dr Prof D. Holland, I misidentified the glossy snake. It is a juvenile bull snake.

Thanks Dr. Holland!!
