Awesome finds! I had always heard Ontario was good for saugas and I'm glad to see you got quite a few. It's interesting to see their habits are so different than in Michigan. Fens and fields are their habitat here. They are not associated with rocks at all.
I clicked the link, too, and particularly liked the dekays you were getting. They're fun out of season.

Cheers -this was my first N.American visit (and hopefully not even close to my last) so I didn't know about the sauga habitat comparison vs elsewhere in the states. Interesting to note for sure.
It was just the one dekayi I ended up finding - quite attractive for something frequently described as just small and brown!

I think many a herper would be jealous to get so many saugas (and variety in general) in a first trip. Well done.
Edit: Dekay's browns can be pretty hard to get as the year goes on due to dry ground. Usually in the spring it's easy to get heaps. They're very pretty little snakes. I haven't seen one in 4 months or so.
