Here are the invertebrates, birds, and lemurs we saw at Isalo National Park. No reptiles or amphibians. I thought the invertebrates and non-herp vertebrates would be better in one post than spread out over separate forums.

The guide told us to look at the ladybugs in the tree. I said I did not see anything. After much pointing and explaining I realized that the "objects" in this picture are to what he was referring. Ladybugs? They look like a gathering of pacmen left over from the 1980's computer game! I have no idea what they are.

I cannot show pictures of invertebrates without showing the rather large Madagascar Hissing Cockroach.

Re: Madagascar Part 3: Isalo National Park-Invertebrates, le
I'm surprised by the lack of comments on your Madagascar posts thus far. I for one am really enjoying these. I love it all anyway, herps, inverts, birds, mammals... And your photos are top notch! Madagascar is on my bucket list and my wife and I hope to go there in the next year or so with friends - your posts are just sealing the deal!
Vancouver WA Herper Also Enjoyed These!
All of your Madagascar posts.
Especially fun since I had a Dumeril's Boa about a year ago and did extensive research on the country and its ecosystems.
I even knew about towns like Toliara, and Ifaty!!
One day, I will go there, too...

John,
Thanks for your comments on my photography. My pictures have greatly improved with more experience. Madagascar is a great place for nature lovers. Australia is wonderful too. I was in South Australia last October/Novemeber and just had a great time with the wildlife. West Virginia just does not have lizards that are the size of medium size dog (e.g. varanids).
