I encountered a Acanthodactylus boskianus lizard with an unusual blue spot in Nahal Lavan (Negev Desert, Israel). Does anybody have any ideas about what could cause the apperiance of this spot? Injury? Genetic disorder? Or something else?

Any herpetologists working in the area? Looks like its been marked with paint or something similar to allow individual ID from a distance.

That looks like it's in the skin not on the skin. Most likely a scar. Looks more grey to me.
