VIDEO: Hawskbill Sea Turtle
Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) feeding on sponges on the bottom of Paso de Cedral Reef, Cozumel, Mexico last week. The fish are there to eat whatever else the turtle scares up. Fish species near the turtle are a pair of French Angelfish (Pomocanthus paru) and a Yellowhead Wrasse (Halichoeres garnoti). The human is me.

Re: VIDEO: Hawskbill Sea Turtle
It was fantastic. The hawskbill was a lifer for me; previously all I'd seen was Green Sea Turtles. But then once we found one, we found lots. All appeared to be female (assuming the male's tail is appreciably longer than a similarly-sized female's).craigb wrote:Very Cool... I bet it was a blast !

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Got to snorkle with green turtles a few years ago. Would love to see some hawksbills.
