Herping trip to the Peruvian Amazon

Post by ray »

Hi fellow herpers!
My friend and I will visit the Peruvian Amazon around mid July for a wildlife trip with a focus on herps. We want to see if anyone reading this wants to come with us and if so, we can share the costs.
A little introduction about ourselves: we are herp lovers and have been volunteering in nature reserves in Ecuador for a couple of months and are now traveling in the country and then in Peru in July. We plan to visit Madre Selva Biological Station or Santa Cruz Forest Reserve run by Project Amazonas (http://www.projectamazonas.org/madre-se ... al-station). To see how cool the places are you can simply google "Madre Selva herping" or "Santa Cruz Forest Reserve herping"

Some details about the trip:
-start around mid July
-fly in Iquitos from Lima (round trip about USD 140)
-total costs of a 5-night trip in the station/reserve drop significantly from 2-person occupancy to 4-person occupancy.

If you are interested, don’t hesitate to PM me asap!
