Can someone tell me what I'm looking at? I think it's a salamander egg mass, but I'm not truly sure. It's a bit late for Jeffs or Spotteds....

Re: Egg Mass ID help
I think those could be Mountain Chorus Frog eggs.
Re: Egg Mass ID help
They look Ambystomatid to me. I'd lean toward a smaller than average A. maculatum mass, which aren't uncommon where I come from. Looks too firm to be A. jeffersonium (or chorus frogs, though I could definitely be wrong about that), and if the picture was taken sometime the past couple weeks, I'd figure that A. tigrinum would be free swimming larvae or at least well developed embryos by now.

Here's some eggs that I'm quite certain were Mountain Chorus Frog:
I would expect to see more jelly for Ambysoma eggs.

Re: Egg Mass ID help
I agree, probably chorus frog eggs. The egg mass is very small and does not have a layer of jelly around it as seen in Ambystomid eggs. The link Carl provided has some additional photos of chorus frog eggs in the comments. I'll probably add chorus frogs to the main body of the post soon.
