A few Southern OR/Northern CA herps

Post by Colin G » March 22nd, 2016, 6:56 pm

Hello everyone,
I haven't posted on here for quite a long time, probably since pre-crash times, but I have been doing a fair amount of poking around down here over the last year and a half so I thought I'd post some pictures up. I'm going to try to get away with not resizing these out of laziness, let me know if they show up too big for you. These are pretty much chronological starting from October 2014.
With the autumn rains came black salamanders. Lots of black salamanders. Habitat (Southern OR):

Hope that wasn't too long for anyone.

Wow, awesome post Colin!

I really enjoyed seeing all the black salamanders, plus the snakes too. The black and white Cal. king is a stunner. What a great photo of the lutosus in habitat. I gave it a nomination.

Hope to see more posts like this in the future!

Jeff

Great post! All those Black Salamanders were very different from any that I have seen. Nice variety too.

Thanks for posting. That lutosus habitat looks like a lot of fun to explore.

Awesome post! :thumb:

Really liked the Cal. king and zonata! Great finds for southern Oregon!

I think I remember you from before the crash. I lived in Oregon many years ago and used to rock hunt and pan for gold all over that part of the state. Even panned for gold before they dammed up the Applegate river there.

God luck herping!

Fantastic finds. Get that stuff into naherp.com - some of them, like the Oregon blacks and calkings, aren't recorded too often.
