Bog and blandings turtles

Post by DarwinsBulldog »

I visited these sites in early May. The bog and blanding's habitats were not anywhere near one another. The bog turtle hatchling was a great find in that it is new recruitment for this site. The hatchling would have hatched in the fall and overwintered without ever coming out into the world until the spring. I found him only after crawling on my hands and knees turning over some tufts of grass and moss.
