Great start to 2016

Post by dwakefield » January 26th, 2016, 8:14 pm

I went down to Miami-Dade county yesterday with a couple of guys to check out a spot that has produced Eastern Diamondbacks recently. We weren't disappointed. We got four within 200 feet and 30 minutes! The first two were practically right next to each other. This was a lifer for me, and something I've been wanting to find for many years.

And some other stuff that turned up yesterday as well:

Everglades Racer

Brooks Kingsnake

Cottonmouths

Florida Box Turtle

Turkey Vulture

Thanks for looking, and I hope everyone else has a great 2016 season!

Looks like a good start. Jealous of the rattler shots. I looked for those all last year and not a one.
Cheers

I know what you mean. I moved here last May and scoured places looking for them with no success whatsoever. I finally found some willing, very knowledgeable guys who showed me a good spot for them on a day with perfect weather. Sunny days in the high 60s or low 70s with no wind are the right conditions for them to come out and bask, so I'm told. It was like that on Monday and we struck gold.
