For Jake

Post by Noah M »

Since I know he's eager for salamander season, here are a couple of snakes from today! I'm ready for salamander season too actually. I'm waiting for the rains....

I don't know how ya'll get these things to sit still. I curled it up on the road, but it kept lifting its head higher and higher, and staring right at me making a nice profile pic impossible.

So I snapped a portrait head shot, and tried setting it in a tree.

I then flipped a couple of logs nearby and found this YoY Southern Ringneck Snake. It was much more well behaved.

Those are some colorful snakes there Noah!

Some of the forestry guys up here in Blackwater are saying this is going to be a wet winter, so it should be a good salamander winter if that happens. Here's hoping!

Tricked me. Nothing but scales in this post.

I think you did just fine with your green snake photos. They can be a test in patience.

Where you live, Josh, it never ends and you don't need any kind of net. Lucky jerk.

Yeah, I'll be doing some dipnetting soon. Road cruising still beats dip netting during Florida's summer sun.
