Not a bad start to October.

Post by Josh Young » October 15th, 2015, 4:06 pm

This past Thursday I was in North Florida chasing simus, and this time, instead of finding a coral snake, I encountered a very large (close to 5 feet) eastern diamondback rattlesnake.

Then, this past Sunday I met up with Nick Scobel to try and turn him up a coral snake, and we instead ended up finding both hognose, which is what I've been trying to do since last month.

First this hatchling eastern hognose snake around midday.

Then a few hours later we came across this gorgeous red southern hognose snake.

If envy could kill, I'm thinking you'd be a dead man already. Nicely done, huge congrats.

Are you the guy posted a different reddish simus already this fall? People sure liked that one.

cheers

Okay, we are so over the reptiles. Amphib season is here. Enough already!

But, I guess if you have to show them, these aren't a bad selection.

See you when the rains come, Mr. Young.
