Slidell- Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge RFI

Post by Jacob »

Hello-

I will be staying in Slidell, LA over the weekend and going to try and check out the Bayou Sauvage Wildlife Refuge. Does any one here have any advice or would like to join for a hike (herping and birding)?

Thanks,

Bayou Sauvage probably has most of your typical coastal species and there are supposedly rattlesnakes in the portions that still have trees, if any do post Hurricane Ike.

If I were staying in Slidell I would herp Big Branch or Pearl River, as that gives you more of a chance at eastern US species that we don't get here in Texas.
