Xenodermus is always awesome to see, that's a very cool snake. The frogs are amazing. I love how unique they all are. Great photos of everything.

Great pics, some really lucky finds in there. My only criticism is USE SCIENTIFIC NAMES.

Thanks all, it was a great trip. The Xenodermus was my favorite herp find, to be sure. Also, while I did use scientific names on my original Flickr posts, the photo info doesn't appear in the posts here, apologies. I will do a better editing job in future posts. And fwiw, here is my Borneo Flickr album, which includes lots of arthropods (and a few warm-blooded critters):

A wonderful follow-up! Would you tell us a little more about the workshop? How was it structured? Did Nicky provide the herps, or did you have to hunt for subjects before each session? And what diffuser setup did you use?

Cheers

Hans -- the workshop was five days/four nights in Tawau Hills Park. Meals were provided, but not herps! We spent all day and much of the night hunting throughout the park and accompanying botanical gardens for whatever we could find. Everything was photographed in place, or moved only slightly for better viewing (and then usually put back exactly where it was found). There were under twenty participants, so it was very congenial, yet there were plenty of eyes looking out for whatever crawled, hopped, or flew, and everyone was great about "sharing" their finds so we could all shoot. It was a tremendous experience.
