2015 so far.... (long post - many pictures)

Post by RonanK »

This year has been my biggest for herping so far, all of the trips have been predominantly herp based, and they have been really quite successful. I was in Australia for the beginning of the year, and I have just returned from South Africa. Whilst it was not my first time visiting Australia, it was my first full on herp trip to both countries.

I guess the easiest way to do this is by country, so l'll start with South Africa

This post is freaking amazing! The mamba, the boomslang, the twigsnake, the cobra, the pythons, the platypus, the cassowaries, my mind can't handle it all. Thanks very much for taking the time to put this together. Did you find the mamba to be pretty temperamental, or did you leave it alone for the most part? I don't know. The twigsnake is what really scares me. I remember reading somewhere that there's no suitable antivenom/treatment for a bite. That info could be very, very out-dated though, so if that's not true I never said it. Also, the photo quality is great. Thanks again.

Another stunning post, Ronan!

Especially beautiful shots of the African herps. I can see how much you've improved over such a short period of time from them. Well done buddy!

P.s. That platypus and those cassowaries are freaking badass.
