As alluded to in a previous request for information, I briefly visited Massachusetts this weekend for a wedding. I got to do a few hours of hiking/flipping. The scenery was great. None of the herps I found are show-stoppers, but they were still nice to see in a new place. I thought I'd share some photos.

We found too many redback salamanders to keep count.

This eft was a nice find near the end of our hike to a pond.

Glad to see you got out ... sorry I was unable to join you. Perhaps some time in the future ...
Any snakes?

It's good to get out in an unfamiliar place, even if you don't see any show-stopping herps. MA isn't known to be as herp-rich as other areas, and we sometimes have to work really hard to find things.

My girlfriend saw a snake cross the path ahead of us, but I was unable to track it down. That's as close as we came to one of our legless friends. Regardless, it was a nice place to hike.Jeffreyrichard wrote:Glad to see you got out ... sorry I was unable to join you. Perhaps some time in the future ...
