Hognose snakes

Post by niteflyer8 »

Hiking is a great thing to do. Finding wildlife of all types and getting a photo is great. Even if you don't see anything you still have a great time because you are out there...I used to see green snakes a lot but never see them anymore. After looking at pictures and knowing the areas I have visited I realize I have seen hognosed snakes which I may have mistaken for another species. I have a picture of what I thought was a copperhead but turned out to be a deep red phase water snake. I do know that I have seen copperheads though. They are a really beautiful snake.

Sensitive topic here in the Northeast, but I'm glad you had success. Please ignore all PMs asking for locations!

As a general rule, do not even mention the "T" word and the state of Ct in the same post.

You have now id'ed yourself as a "poacher" in the eyes of the great state of Ct and your posts will be monitored in the future. God forbid you meet up with them while taking those pics - you will not enjoy it!
