Nice! Really amazing photography I really like the shot of the sonoran coral.

Great photos. I recently found a Threadsnake myself, and wanted to share my image so others can get an idea how small they really are:

Fossorial snakes are awesome, thanks for putting together so many. I would call all of these big game for me in AZ.

Re: Some 2014 AZ Fossorials
Thanks again. Fossorial snakes are greatly underrated in my opinion. Lots of the local herpers here spend their time focused entirely on boas, pyros, and rattlers. And while I love those snakes as much as the next herper, I always designate a considerable amount of time every year just for the little guys. I'm not ashamed to say that I'd take a coralsnake over a pyro any day.
kit fox, nice photo and congrats on the tiny threadsnake.

How hard are those sand snakes to find, compared to say, Ground Snakes? Matter of luck, which you might see, or far less likely? I have the western range extension for Variable Ground snake in Ca (only one I've ever found, and first in the area since Stebbins's 1958 extension) the only thing I want more than seeing another, is to see a few of AZ's other fossorials like the ones you've posted (GREAT post BTW) if and when I drive cross AZ (and back) for the National meet in NM.
Biggest spotted leafnose I ever saw was up by Bagdad, and super peach colored, along with a couple of very lg night snakes... but I'd REALLY love to see a Regal Ring... jim

Well Jim I'm not sure I could compare Sandsnakes to anything else. They are a beast all their own. If I want to see Groundsnakes I flip rocks for them. I don't see vary many on roads. Sandsnakes however are vary easy to road cruise if you know the secrets (what days, times, temps). It also doesn't hurt to have a great road. I've seen four Sandsnakes this year from two very different roads. Two of those were seen on the same night. Which is a fairly common occurance. If you plan on looking for them during the NAFHA trip you might be out of luck. They are much easier to find in April and May. If you should ever find yourself here during the spring let me know and I can put you on the right path. Corals on the other hand shouldn't be too much of a problem for the NAFHA group. They are pretty dang common in southern AZ. I almost always see one when I am down there. In fact the night I found the one above, I also saw a DOR. And a friend saw another DOR at a different locale.
