Hey All... I know this is a long shot, but a friend of mine is hoping to I.D. a snake she saw in Ecuador several years ago. Her description is this... "About a foot long, tan with dark markings." Location was rainforest "across the Napo River from Misahualli."
Can anyone give an educated guess or point to a website with a species list? Gratitude!

To be honest I think that description is far too vague to get any sort of ID you might be able to narrow it down to a few dozen species. But if you want to give it a shot (and speak some spanish) you may want to check out reptiliaweb ecuador. I dont know if they include photos but its something. http://zoologia.puce.edu.ec/Vertebrados ... fault.aspx
I havent used the reptile one but I used amphibiaweb and it was very useful for IDing frogs I saw.
Here is another list of reptiles of ecuador, again no pics just scientific names.
