Had 4 Kg worth of reptiles on the way to Japan a few days ago. They were on the lower aft deck, so not accessible inflight. Set the lower aft cargo compartment to 21 C. It's the first time I've seen reptiles on my flight.

Re: Snakes on a plane
How many non-herp pilots would think to set a higher cargo compartment temperature? Do you have different procedures for live cargo which would require it? What's the normal temp?
Re: Snakes on a plane
The airline gives us a temperature sheet telling us what temp to set each zone at. I'm not sure what kind of reptiles were onboard. While I've never carried reptiles before, I'm pretty sure they are limited to the lower cargo compartment.
I did check the temps more frequently inflight knowing they were onboard

I just flew home from Shanghai yesterday and went through Tokyo. I was thinking "I wonder if LouB was my pilot" but then just noticed this was an ANA flight you were flying through SF. I'm a Delta guy.
Awesome manifest with the snakes on the plane. It would have been tight if your co-pilot for that day was Samuel L Jackson too.
