You know, zombie plague or such ... what would take over?
- cockroaches?
- red back sallies?
- green frogs?
my vote is the Eastern Painted Turtle ... they are everywhere

I think it would have to be sparrows. They just don't care where they live and what they eat. They would take advantage of all the abandon buildings and go crazy.

I think house mouse, brown rat, and pigeon are up there on the list.

Pretty sure that everything would do well. Over time, species that utilize habitats created by people would decline dramatically. It's amazing how quickly abandoned buildings get swallowed by plants!

Old buildings make great habitat. Driving in the south, nothing gets me excited like an abandoned farm with old buildings.pete wrote:Pretty sure that everything would do well. After fort devens closed back in the 90s, I watched whole neighborhoods of buildings taken over by wildlife.I have a whole collection of nesting bird pics from one summer in those buildings. Ultimately they bulldozed everything but some of those cement buildings would have been habitat till the end of time.
