VP of the Rocky Mtn Chptr, moving to NE Georgia

Post by jdustin »

Hello all,
Very shortly I will be moving into your chapter, and so I wanted to introduce myself. My name's Josh Dustin. I grew up chasing kings and rosy boas in Southern California, and then spent the last 12 years herping Utah.
My family and I will soon be moving to Habersham County, in North East Georgia. I'm greatly looking forward to encountering the herps of the area, and getting to know some of you who live in the region.

Here are a few pictures from the last few years of some of the things I've encountered here out west.

Welcome to our neck of the woods. I like your pictures. It all seems a bit foreign to me as I've never herped out west, or really been out there much period. I don't know what I would do if I cruised a boa.

I hope your move goes smoothly and I may the luck you've out west follow you here!

Josh, Welcome to Georgia! I live down state from you a bit in the Augusta area. Anytime you want to get down here to do some sandhill herping let me know. I look forward to meeting you.

That western stuff is drool worthy. You are moving to a good area though. The Rabun and Towns county area is one of my favorite places in the state. Gotta like salamanders, though.

Thanks guys. I've been here a week and I'm loving it.
My wife flew while I drove so she got here a day ahead of me, and called me as I drove to say she found a snake in the yard. She sent me a pic she snapped with her phone, and I couldn't hardly believe it.
Yeah. I think I'm gonna like it here.

There are several small ponds around our house, and it's been a lot of fun meeting the new neighbors.
