I'm always glad to see a picture with a tex tort still alive and not pummeled by traffic.

The head looks a little paler than your average TX tortoise (though it's not like I've seen a lot of them)...almost looks like an Old World tortoise. How old/big was it?

He wasn't that old nor too big. We relocated him off of a oilfield road.
