A rarely seen snake in these parts

Post by Kevin McRae » September 4th, 2013, 9:01 am

Our local Herpetological Society had a field trip this past weekend and one of the members were able to find this little guy. I felt he was worthy of a post as it's only the second wild Heterodon I have ever seen in over ten years. They have a decent size range within Canada but they can be very tough to find.

Nice find! Anything you haven't seen yet in those parts?

Thank you!

Jon, I have found all the herps in Manitoba except for the Great Plains Toad which is in extreme SW Manitoba. I still need to make it out to BC and find some new herps!

Any nasicus is a cool nasicus, no matter where it is found.

Great find.
