That big purple snakearoonie was a master of self composure and sanity. Fortunately for him, the man with a shovel called me first! I hope they both fare well in their mutual separation, and I'm happy to see us all go our separate ways in peace.

That coral squeezing through that little hole is pretty amazing, and a good lesson could be learned by it for other herpers that might use a similar container for snakes that burrow or have similar builds like regals, shovelnose, etc. The atrox' head is huge.

That atrox looks dang fantastic! Great pics. On those lids, I use the smallest drill bit in the bag to prevent just that. Had a similiar experience with a scarlet snake once - he escaped into my car, but I was able to find him shortly after.

This is the jar that the snake was is when it was brought to me by a neighbor. I've since released the little guy.

Great stuff, Terry.

In my experience, corals are the Houdinis of the reptile world.

I'm really digging that near-patternless atrox. :thumb:
