One of my customers gave me these garter snakes. I'm not sure what they are. What do you guys think? Center stripe is real prominent, side stripes are a greenish color. No idea where the snakes came from. He got them from his son-in-law. I didn't think to ask where he lived.

Can you take a closer pic, and show the sides in focus, and the top and the venter and the head? It might help, but from what you've got there I have no idea...

What Brian said, take them out of the cage and provide a photo of anterior third of the body in dorsal and lateral aspect [waiting.....waiting.........]

The last pic looks like a proximus to me.

Certainly one of the ribbon snakes. They light spot in front of the eye is the giveaway. Not sure offhand which one though.

I'd have to agree. Western Ribbon.pete wrote:The last pic looks like a proximus to me.

2nd, 3rd, 4th on the proximus, and looks like the subspecies T. p. orarius, Gulf Coast Ribbon Snake, which is sold in the pet trade from southern Louisiana and southern Texas.

I agree with Jeff. They are the most common ribbon snake sold in pet shops.
