I went road cruisin in Levy county and found a cute little DOR eastern diamond back. I am not posting the photo here cuz it is a little gross, but the pattern is clearly Crotalus adamanteus .
I did find this though after digging through some rocks. I think it is a Hentz striped, but I'm not sure.
I also poked around Alachua county today and found this DOR tonight.
I'm having a bit more luck since my first post, as both the rattler and this watesnake are firsts for me, but I would prefer alive over dead.
I also went down to Big Cypress a few days ago. I did not see a single snake, save for some raptor flying overhead with one. Saw more gators than I thought was possible, and tons of birds. I did mostly video there and have not had time to sift through and edit it into a presentable film. Here is a video from my neighborhood that has a few herps.

I'm going to keep exploring, and of course I welcome tips, advice, and information on locations.
